Dynamis is currently developing this important regional project:

Bendera Hydropower Plant Retrofit Project
Provinces of Tanganyika & South Kivu
Democratic Republic of Congo

Current Capacity: Nameplate Design/Installed/Actual                                              43/17/9 MW
Target Capacity:   Nameplate Design                                                                              Approx 60 MW (To be)

The exceptional head (altitude difference) of 677m, means that it’s possible with a high power outlet, while still utilising small water volumes.
(Also reducung the need for a major reservoir).

In addition to the capacity upgrade, we aim to substantially increase reliability of the plant, as well as improving working conditions and safety.

Dynamis Investment Partners Ltd and Bendera HPP Ltd of UK – in collaboration with SNEL (Societé National d’Electricité du Congo).
Dynamis also works  in collaboration with Confidere Sverige AB of Sweden and Confidere Sub Sahara (Pty) Ltd in Johannesburg, as well as with Zutari Engineering in Pretoria.

The German Bank KFW-DEG has provided a grant, as co-financing of the development of the project. The rest of the funding is from private and corporate investors.
